On September 14, the awards for the "Double Hundred and Double Excellence" selection activities held during the 2023 (8th) Water Supply High-Quality Development Forum were announced. The guests presented the 2022-2023 Water Supply Industry "Double Hundred and Double Excellence" Awards to the winning companies present.



"Double Hundred, Double Excellence"

The 2023 (8th) Water Supply High-Quality Development Forum will also launch a selection campaign themed "Double Hundred, Double Excellence." Focusing on the forum's theme, "New Water Supply under Chinese Modernization," the campaign aims to promote the development of "high-quality products" and "high-quality services" within the water supply industry. The selection process will focus on the pain points and challenges across all aspects of water supply, from production and management to service operations, and will help uncover more high-quality products and technologies within the industry. Furthermore, the product application cases collected during the selection process will provide participating suppliers with a richer showcase and help water supply companies more intuitively understand the practical effects of their products.

This competition closely integrates "intelligence" and "water supply." The entire water supply process, from "source" to "tap," is divided into four key components: smart raw water, smart water plants, smart water delivery, and smart terminals. Industry experts were invited to serve as judges, who comprehensively evaluated participating companies based on key information provided, including operational expertise, participation in relevant standards, product/technical information, and practical examples, reflecting product/technical advantages and differentiation. Ultimately, the following are the "Double Hundred, Double Excellence" companies selected from the smart raw water and smart water plant components that met the selection criteria.

Shanghai Lingang Water Supply and Drainage Smart Pump Room UV Reactor

Problems and Pain Points:

An integrated intelligent pumphouse needed to be built according to new standards. As a model pumphouse, it required more intelligent control. Furthermore, since the building housing this pumphouse was the office building for a newly built water supply and drainage company, it was not possible to relocate all staff there in the near future, resulting in minimal water demand. However, selecting a pumphouse based on maximum capacity inevitably resulted in a mismatch between the design and actual operating conditions.

Solution:

We provide an intelligent UV pipeline disinfection reactor with a touchscreen interface and adjustable UV lamp output power. This tubular UV disinfection equipment can be linked to on-site residual chlorine and flow meter signals. The system provides intelligent control based on residual chlorine concentration, incoming water flow, water supply patterns, signal faults, and other conditions. Adjustable lamp output power maximizes energy savings while ensuring disinfection is qualified. It features disinfection, safety, energy-saving, and customizable modes. Based on the building's actual water volume, it can meet operational requirements, preventing lamp dry-burning due to water shortages or low water levels, as well as frequent on/off cycles. This ensures a smooth transition to normal system operation and digitally intelligent operation of the pump room.

Case Benefits:

① Under normal operating conditions, the project reduces electricity costs by over 35% compared to traditional products.

② Achieves multi-barrier disinfection with UV and residual chlorine, ensuring user water safety.

③ Combined UV and chlorine disinfection eliminates the need to replenish residual chlorine at the end of water use, or the generation of additional disinfection byproducts such as trihalomethanes and other carcinogens after excessive replenishment.
