Medium Pressure Mercury Lamp
ONYX offers high-quality, vacuum-sealed medium-pressure UV lamps across a full power range, using the best materials and manufacturing techniques. ONYX primarily uses medium-pressure mercury lamps for water disinfection and advanced oxidation applications in its Clear series of medium-pressure reactors, compact Extrem series of medium-pressure reactors, and photochemical advanced oxidation process products.
Introduction
Medium-pressure mercury lamps operate at mercury vapor pressures ranging from 0.013 MPa to 1.330 MPa, 100 times that of low-pressure mercury lamps. Consequently, the lamp wall power load reaches as high as 40 W/cm² to 275 W/cm². With surface temperatures reaching 600-900°C, medium-pressure lamps offer a multi-spectral output within the germicidal wavelength range of 200-400 nm, effectively destroying microbial organisms or preventing their replication, while also preventing DNA photoreactivation and dark repair in microorganisms, achieving thorough sterilization and disinfection.
1. Medium-pressure mercury lamps utilize high-quality quartz tubes with minimal water content.
2. Seals are made of hard quartz glass with molybdenum seals.
3. Medium-pressure mercury lamps utilize needle-shaped pure tungsten electrodes.
4. Standard medium-pressure UV lamps have peak output at 254 nm and 365 nm.
5. Chemically doped medium-pressure UV lamps may be used in photochemical advanced oxidation processes. Metal halides are added to standard mercury-containing medium-pressure UV lamps to alter the lamp's radiation spectrum.
6. Medium-pressure mercury lamps can be used with either single-ended or double-ended leads.
