Current UV disinfection systems in wastewater treatment plants often suffer from the following problems: Manufacturers fail to accurately calculate UV dosage, resulting in substandard effluent; some manufacturers intentionally reduce dosage to reduce costs, with actual dosages less than 60% of the nominal value; medium-pressure UV lamps are prone to scaling (primarily composed of carbonates and silicates), while the quartz sleeve cleaning design is flawed; and designers blindly accept manufacturers' unreasonable solutions, resulting in a mismatch between equipment and treatment capacity.
