Spare parts replacement
UV photochemical products, used in municipal, industrial, and commercial applications, must ensure continuous and reliable operation. Consumables, wear parts, and other failed spare parts require replacement, most notably UV lamps.
UV lamps are consumables with a specific lifespan. Generally, they should be replaced when the effective UV output intensity decreases by 20-30%. Low-pressure UV lamps should be replaced after 8,000-12,000 hours, low-pressure amalgam lamps after 12,000-16,000 hours, and medium-pressure lamps after 5,000-8,000 hours.
Replacing UV lamps involves significant cost investment for the customer. When to replace UV lamps is primarily determined by two factors: whether the disinfection or oxidation performance of the equipment is meeting standards, and whether lamp degradation poses a risk to system safety. UV lamp life varies between different brands, and different operating environments and fault-handling capabilities also influence the frequency of lamp replacement.
When replacing a ballast, the key consideration is lamp compatibility. Mismatches in lamp preheating design, lamp current, lamp voltage, and other parameters, or poor quality such as anti-interference and electromagnetic shielding, can lead to lamp damage and system failure.
Quartz sleeves may become damaged and require replacement during maintenance, or they may require replacement due to a decrease in UV 254nm transmittance over years of use. Replacement quartz sleeves must not only be identical in size to the original, but also ensure that their transmittance meets design requirements. Otherwise, the disinfection or oxidation effect will not be as expected, resulting in process failure.
