The purpose of this application for the "Technical Specification for Wastewater Treatment Engineering by Photo-Fenton Oxidation" is to research current photo-Fenton technology applications and, in light of the progress and development of photo-Fenton technology, propose key process and technical requirements for photo-Fenton technology engineering design, construction, and operation management. This will ensure that photo-Fenton technology complies with national guidelines, policies, laws, and regulations, unify engineering construction standards, improve project quality, and ensure safety, reliability, technological advancement, economic rationality, and ease of management.
As a new technology, photo-Fenton oxidation treatment of high-concentration, difficult-to-degrade, toxic and hazardous wastewater lacks corresponding design standards for its scope of application, technical parameters, and key operational and management considerations. This specification aims to fill this gap.

Contributing Units
On June 20, 2023, the kick-off meeting and the first working meeting of the drafting team for the China Engineering Construction Standardization Association (CECS) standard "Technical Specification for Wastewater Treatment Engineering by Photo-Fenton Oxidation" (hereinafter referred to as the "Specifications") were held in Wuhan, using a combination of online and offline methods. The Specifications were co-edited by China Municipal Engineering Central South Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Beijing Anlisi Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., with contributions from Tsinghua University, Nankai University, the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, Yangtze River Ecological and Environmental Protection Group Co., Ltd., CITIC Engineering Design and Construction Co., Ltd., CITIC Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., Sinopec Research Institute of Petrochemical Sciences Co., Ltd., MCC Ecological and Environmental Protection Group Co., Ltd., Sinochem Environmental Technology Engineering Co., Ltd., CRRC Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., Hebei Huayao Environmental Protection Research Institute, and Shandong Lukang Zhonghe Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd.

Jin Bo, Secretary of the Industrial Water Supply and Drainage Committee of the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization; Wan Nianhong, Deputy Chief Engineer and Director of the Research Institute of the Central South Design and Research Institute; Zhang Weidong and Liu Yourong, Deputy Chief Engineers of the Central South Design and Research Institute; Cai Xiaoyong, Chairman of Anlisi; and other representatives, totaling over 30 people, attended the meeting.
The meeting invited experts such as Huang Yongheng, Vice President of the Guangdong Standardization Association; and Zhang Gaoke, Chief Professor of Wuhan University of Technology.
Development Outline
At the meeting, Jin Bo, Secretary of the Industrial Water Supply and Drainage Committee of the CECS, outlined the relevant regulations for standard development. Wan Nianhong, representing the lead editorial unit, delivered a welcome speech. Liu Qi, from the Research Institute of the Central South Design and Research Institute, provided a detailed overview of the drafting outline for the "Regulations." The expert group provided specific guidance on the scope of application, framework, and key research areas of the "Regulations," laying the foundation for further progress. Finally, Wan Nianhong expressed his gratitude to the participating experts and participating organizations, stating that the next phase will leverage the strengths of each organization and, based on thorough research, complete the drafting task with high quality and standards.
