What are the applications of ultraviolet light in wastewater treatment?

(1) Disinfection: Inactivation of microorganisms. As the core disinfection process, it is usually used alone or in combination with chlorine disinfection, depending on the use of the wastewater and relevant standards.

(2) Removal of organic matter in water: Combined with oxidants such as ozone and hydrogen peroxide, it forms ultraviolet advanced oxidation technology (UV-AOPs) to remove organic matter in water.
