ONYX Builds and Develops Biological Dosimetry Testing and CFD Simulation Platform
UV biological dosimetry and CFD (computational fluid dynamics) simulation are two core technologies for evaluating and predicting the actual effective dose of ultraviolet (UV) disinfection/oxidation equipment. They complement each other to ensure accurate dosimetry and disinfection reliability during the design, validation, and operation phases of the equipment.
Biodosimetry calculates the "effective dose" (RED, Reduction Equivalent Dose) that the reactor can actually deliver under specific operating conditions based on the changes in microbial concentrations in the inlet and outlet water and the pre-established "dose-inactivation rate" curve.
CFD simulations numerically solve the Navier-Stokes equations and the UV radiation transfer equation to determine the three-dimensional flow field, light intensity field, and particle trajectory within the reactor, thereby predicting dose distribution, minimum dose, and RED.
