Ultraviolet (UV) light effectively kills bacteria and algae in water through physical sterilization, without developing resistance (as with biocides/disinfectants).
Medium-pressure UV light takes up less space, offers greater capacity per system, and provides more thorough disinfection. It also features spectral dechlorination and 185nm photolysis.
